Hi Steph, I enjoyed reading your post and can actually relate to a lot of what you said. I attended an EndNote workshop in semester 1 and had a similar experience. It was quite confusing at first, but the basics stuck and now I am happy to have the skill to manage my references. I like using EndNote and never looked back…Thanks for your post.

Hi Ruth, I enjoyed reading your post. It sounds like it was a wonderful program. I particularly like what you said about digital literacy being intertwined with increased literacy in Indigenous oral culture. I think that is a very important point to make because not all traditions are based on the written word.

Hi Ruth! I enjoyed reading your article very much as I have been curious about the QAGOMA library but haven’t got around to explore much until now. It seems to me you did a lot of focused research to write a concise, informative and very interesting post. As the other colleagues have mentioned, this has been a great forum to learn from each others’ experiences and interests and I learnt a lot from your post. Thank you!

This is an excellent review of the discussion, highlighting topics of interest. I enjoyed the pace and logic you gave to your post and how you referred to particular Twitterers’s comments that struck a cord with you. Great post, thank you!

Hi Stacey, your article is spot on. I enjoyed your personal experiences taking center stage as you constructed your arguments. I don’t have contemporary experience in kids going to school, but reflecting back on my own journey I was encouraged to read for the joy of it. And that has stayed with me ever since. Thanks for an excellent article!

    Hi Shannon,

I really enjoyed reading your article – it is lively and well referenced. Just one suggestion: when I clicked on the ‘good librarian’ link it took me to a relevant article to the topic but made me wonder why you called the link ‘good librarian’. And then…what is a good librarian? Do we know? Just food for thought. Cheers!

Thank you all for your insights and comments!

Bronwyn, I find that reference work is intimidating, especially when you are still learning about it (I feel I am always ‘in training’!) But having to interact with others and provide the best advice you can is a great way to learn. Happy to discuss further if you are interested in learning more about it for future employment opportunities.

    Hi Chris,

Your post is well written, interesting and with great insights on service delivery. I agree with you that having to prompt the agent is not ideal and impacts on your perception of the service, which appears to have been an overall positive experience. While reading it I was reflecting on my work as a Library Adviser and how prepared I am to anticipate user needs, without having them prompt me for information. There is always room for more learning and improvement, that’s for sure. Thanks for a great post!

    Hi Kate,

That’s really cool you also have a bilingual experience at home. I studied a little bit about it when doing my GradCert in TESOL. It’s fascinating topic! Which also points to another one of my interests: library access and programs for speakers of other languages than English.
