Peldon PParticipantHi Chris, you have addressed the issue very well by considering both aspects of ‘Library as a quiet place’ and ‘library as a place for people to socialize’.
Peldon PParticipantInteresting post Sarah although you were not really impressed with the program but that’s so much better than what my son and I attended. Where we went they did not talk to us at all still I loved being in the library, the quiet space with books and stuffs is so appealing to me.
The part about moms getting coffee break is funny, as much as I love my son sometimes I wish somebody would take him away for a day or something. It can be exhausting with toddlers, I’m glad that libraries are doing that for moms 😉
Peldon PParticipantPhew! That was a busy week. My dear colleagues if you could find any materials related to this topic, please include them in the comments. I could not find enough relevant materials to support my writing. Also please be critical and comment, I need constructive criticism. Thank you 🙂

Peldon PParticipantHi Robynne, how did you insert that awesome image without the attachment? Thanks
Peldon PParticipantHi Debbie, as usual very interesting post, how beautifully you write 🙂 I learned to use Endnote only in my second semester, now I can’t imagine uni without Endnote; it is a necessity 😉 I create separate Endnote library for each of my subjects to avoid confusion. I know there are still many students who cannot use the application. I only wish they put in extra effort to learn or the library communicates and make students aware of this. 🙂

Support -The trends towards supporting HDR stds #2451Peldon PParticipantI could not write this post well, there are so many things I should have mentioned has been left out mainly because of my limited knowledge in library studies and practices. I’d like to request my mates to contribute few points through comments below. Thank you 🙂

Yet to read your post, just wanted to let you know that you can use blockquote ” for your 2nd para..it’s usually used for definitions or direct-quotes. Now I’m going to read your post 🙂
October 10, 2015 at 10:30 am in reply to: Week 11 – Issues based reflection – research support for humanities #2395Peldon PParticipantHi Stacey great post as usual..I was sort of struggling to write this week’s post but then your post gave me some idea so thanks. As for the post, I agree with you, research support should be same to all the HDR students, Humanities should not be left behind or else those students would have similiar stories like yours. Still HDR students always get more support than the coursework students. For instance, QUT Library has an entire section for Research students, I just hope those librarians assigned to them have more knowledge and expertise than those at the library helpdesk. Cheers 🙂
October 9, 2015 at 9:59 pm in reply to: Week 9 – Argue a Point: 3-D Printing is not for Libraries #2391Peldon PParticipantHi Catlin, you have made some valid arguments regarding the use of 3d printers in libraries for makerspaces. When I hear 3d printer the first thing that comes to my mind is a printout (hardcopy) with images and letters in 3 dimensions. Because of this vision in my head, it was hard for me to analyse its other usage but your post has somehow opened my mind to other possibilities. However, like some of our peers highlighted here, I was also wondering if 3d printers are not too expensive to use for the makerspace programs considering how libraries are mostly low on budget. Cheers. 🙂
Peldon PParticipantVery interesting read Saurav, I’d check out the Edge program for two reasons 1) to help understand our A3 program 2) to try out the maker program at home for my son. I have so intrigued by the makerspaces that I would like to take my son again to one of the libraries offering the program during the summer break.
I am sure you asked Steve and me to check the Edge site for A2 this time I am going to have a look. Cheers 😉

October 6, 2015 at 4:15 pm in reply to: Week 9 | Program review | Makerspaces – Children's craft activities #2338Peldon PParticipantTotally 😉 I agree with you. Cheers
October 6, 2015 at 4:14 pm in reply to: Week 9 | Program review | Makerspaces – Children's craft activities #2337Peldon PParticipantHi Robynne, I am always amazed by how wonderfully you write and how you could think of all the perspectives. I think it just goes to show that participants have not taken enough effort to let them know the program is not really how it should have been. Next time I attend, I will ask them the questions 😉
