Steven WalkerParticipantNow we’re living in the 21st century and a digital world, trends in Makerspaces at schools and libraries are aimed at technological innovation and aquiring 21st century skillsets. Students in schools today, can learn how to make their own games, or access 3D printers. EDtech in schools now offer instructional frameworks which encourage teachers and students to use digital tools that foster creativity along with production skills. Other than just trying to engage students, schools are convinced that these skills of creativity and production will help students succeed in high education and the workforce. This statement is very valid for genY and Z, well done!
Steven WalkerParticipantI am amazed at how skilled we are as ateam and that for you by that signing up to Trove and creating an account has many benefits. It basically gives you the tools you need to take full advantage of the millions of resources this service provides access to a vast collection of resouces. Well done
Steven WalkerParticipantYour comment
“helping people be more independent will reduce the time required for librarians and library assistants to attend to technology issues. Although new technologies and systems are continually being released, those with confidence and experience with technology are able to intuitively understand how the system works and can problem solve issues as they arise” is why I qam becoming an IT specialist and I like to help to help people, god to see you are arguing got something similar. Whats the hardest part about the SLQ vision wuld you say?Steven WalkerParticipantI really enjoyed readin your post, especially when you mention, this program ties in perfectly with this idea. I admire those with the skills of sewing, something which is much less common these days when it is often cheaper to buy pre-made than making yourself. The infographic on the week 9 page is a great reminder that making/creating locally offers great benefit going directly back to the community.
